The Arkay A-25 Darkroom Photo Dryer is a handy piece of darkroom equipment for the intrepid darkroom printer in a hurry. This print dryer is designed to rapidly dry fiber darkroom prints (don't try it with RC prints, the emulsion might melt) avoiding the usually long drying time that such prints require. It also helps fiber prints to dry a bit flatter. A dryer like this could be used in two different methods. If the print is placed face out then standard drying is possible. With the print facing in toward the polished metal surface a slightly glossy finish was added to the paper surface, although this apparently requires polishing the metal surface with a specific compound that is difficult to use these days. Most darkroom printers use dryers such as this one in the more standard style for ordinary, rapid drying purposes.
The drying surface on the A-25 measures 19" x 26", allowing for prints up to 16x20 to easily fit.
